Manila, Philippines

Our first global initiative supported Manila based community organization, Project Pearls, so of course we wanted to include Manila on this tour! Our trip to the Philippines was filled with opportunities to educate and engage ourselves on every facet of daily life, from meetings, photo shoots and interviews to day long traditional meals with elders and supporting local artists’s creative endeavors. We travelled to Lipa Batangas to learn about agriculture and sustainability, and planned and produced two of our own events at The Bowery and NOKAL Manila. We teamed up with Project Pearls again on this trip, and volunteered to help feed 2,000 kids for their annual holiday celebration. We’re excited to learn more ways in which we can support the young children of Tondo, Manila and the projects carried out by PP. 

Phuket & Bangkok, Thailand

The beginning of the trip was centered around mindfulness and the universe responded with an unplanned trip to the island of Phuket. Phuket was an incredibly uplifting and spiritual experience for the team. We reflected on our trip and relaxed in the world renowned oasis, Sri Panwa. Room Service is extremely grateful for Sri Panwa's hospitality and for gifting our trip to Phuket; allowing the team to regroup, spend time with one another, explore the islands, and exchange new music and photography. Our ground support in Bangkok, BLAQ LYTE, provided Room Service with two epic shows, one at famous, underground, BEAM Nightclub and the second at Susie Q on historic Khaoson Road. We also had the opportunity to connect and spend a day sharing lessons and shooting photography with the talented kids at Khlong Thoey Music Program. Room Service is excited to continue our relationships with BLAQ LYTE & Sri Panwa throughout Thailand, and develop ways in which we can further support the youth and deeper community objectives.

Nha Trang & Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

For our service projects in Vietnam, we dedicated our time to social and cultural exchange, and focused entirely on spending time with local tastemakers and young revolutionaries; immersing ourselves within their day to day creative lives. Priding themselves on their diversity of food, art, fashion and music, Vietnam is creating magic with some of the youngest industry professionals in the game. The Whooligan had the opportunity to perform a DJ set in Nha Trang's famed Skylight restaurant and club, and the energy of the people was one of the most vibrant of the entire trip. In Ho Chi Minh City, we spent a few days running around with the founders of There VND Then, a multiform concept and creative hub that launched in 2020.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Room Service successfully sponsored a day-long feeding program on our Malaysian service trip. We spent time with 30 kids, playing sports and even getting to watch a live performance by a local youth dance crew at the at-risk crisis center, Yayasan Chow Kit. We also purchased much needed kitchen appliances, including a new refrigerator, hot press sandwich maker and high powered vacuum for the organization. With our utmost gratitude, the trip to Malaysia was made possible thanks to our partners, SaturdaySelects, who booked us to perform at Jiro, a legendary nightclub in the heart of KL who closed their doors early 2019, and created such a brilliant platform to connect with artists around the world. 

Bali, Indonesia

Our visit to Bali was an educational eye opener for the team and included more field work and meetings with local organizations. We met with the amazing founders of The Shelter Project, a positive, "temporary home" solution to support communities displaced by natural disasters. We also had the honor and privilege of spending an afternoon with the incredible Ibu Robin Lim (Ibu for Mother), known all over the world for providing thousands of low-income women with healthy pregnancy and birth services, and acknowledged by CNN as 2011 Hero of the Year. Her courageous foundation known as Yayasan Ibu Bumi Sehat (Non-Profit Healthy Mother Earth Foundation), not only provides healthy birthings in Bali but also medical aide for those in need throughout Indonesia, the Philippines and Southeast Asia. Room Service also DJ’d in two venues: The Lawn Canggu and SingleFin in Uluwatu, which were both received by fun, energetic crowds! We're beyond grateful for Uluwatu Surf Villas and Mana Uluwatu for their gracious care, accomodations, and love.

Jakarta, Indonesia

Working together closely with our partners in Jakarta, De La House, we strategized ways to beautify and rehabilitate the local community’s multipurpose athletic court and provide updated sporting equipment. The partnership with De La House is ongoing and we’re in the process of finalizing the next steps to restore the court for the local youth in South Jakarta. Room Service performed two sets at De La House’s venues: restaurant & lounge, Roosevelt and nightclub, Leon. A big hug and warm thank you to the amazing De La House team for their hospitality and for their assistance in making the Southeast Asia tour a reality.
